Trip Overview of Royal Trek

The easy and short trek in the enticing lands of Annapurna Region, Royal Trek is the popular trek chosen by Prince Charles along with his 90 people in the year 1980 which gave the route the name of ‘Royal Trek’.

Walking past the forested ridge, traversing the rhododendron woods, moving through the villages of amiable locals with an opportunity to have a peek into their culture, traditions, and ways of living and having soaring views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung, Tukuche, and Hiunchuli Peaks are the major attractions of the Royal Trek.

After taking a guided tour into the UNESCO enlisted cultural sites at Kathmandu, the Royal Trek itinerary sets into motion as we take a 5hour drive through the swirling road of Prithvi Highway towards Pokhara from where the drive progresses to Bijayapur Khola. It is at Bijayapur Khola that the enticing trekking experience commences as we cross the river and choose the escalating trail through Ranigaon Village to Kalikasthan. Indulging in the panoramic views of Annapurna and Lamjung Mountains from the Gurung Village of Syaklung, we will head through Chisopani to Pokhara from where we will catch a bus back to Kathmandu which formally concludes the ‘Royal Trek’ package as you will be conveyed back to International Airport. Enrolling in this journey is the best way of observing the lifestyle in Highland Villages and having peeked into several snow-clad mountains without having to undergo the arduous trekking in a short time span which makes it suitable for trekkers of all age groups.

Itinerary

Upon landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from ‘Tourist Link Treks & Expedition’ who will then convey you through the vibrant streets in Kathmandu to the hotel where you will receive a brief explanation regarding your trekking package. You will spend the night in the comfy bed.

Taking light breakfast early in the morning, our guide will then take you for a pleasant day tour inside Kathmandu which encompasses the UNESCO enlisted holiest shrine of Shiva at Pashupatinath Temple Complex, the Bouddhanath Stupa which is the largest Stupa existing inside Kathmandu, Swayambhunath Temple aka Monkey Temple which is the oldest Stupa inside Kathmandu which dates almost 2oooyrs back and the Kathmandu Durbar Square which is yet another UNESCO enlisted historical site where you will get chance to view the abode of Living Goddess- Kumari, Kasthamandap Temple, Kal Bhairab and many more.

5hour of enchanting drive through the meandering road along the Prithvi Highway will eventually take us to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The route will be full of natural grandeurs like the Trishuli River, rice terraces, and numerous peaks in the background.

Taking light breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara, we will continue driving towards Bijayapur Khola which marks the initiation of a pleasant trekking experience as we cross the river from where the trail meanders upward through Rakhigaon Village to Kalikasthan located at 1370m altitude where we will be staying overnight in the tea house.

Crossing the forested ridge, we will walk past Thulokot and Mai Thana from where the trail clambers uphill by the way of Naudanda to the Gurung settlement of Syaklung located at 1730m altitude. En route, we will be enjoying the gratifying views of Annapurna and Lamjung peaks.

Leaving the pretty village of Syaklung behind, we will choose the downward trail and pass through small tea shops whence the trail escalates uphill to lead us to Chisopani located at 2300m altitude. The strenuous trekking will be compensated by the rare views of numerous snow-clad peaks.

Lowering down through the ridge, we will continue walking halfway downhill to arrive at Rupatal whence we will climb for about 200 meters to make it to Sundare danda. Taking a rest at Sundare Danda for a while, we will make an advance towards Begnas Lake from where we will take a drive towards the hotel in Pokhara where we will stay overnight in a hotel.

5 hours of scenic drive through the serpentine roads along Prithvi Highway with exotic views of the Trishuli River, paddy fields, terraces, and hills will lead us back to Kathmandu where we will be staying in a hotel. Dinner will be served in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of ‘Royal Trek’.

The enticing 9days ‘Royal Trek’ comes to an end on this day as you will be transferred back to Tribhuvan International airport by our representative. We are happy to serve you and we will be looking forward to your next visit.
