Trip Introduction

Helambu Trek is fully operational again after tragic Earthquake of 25th April 2015. Many new teahouses have been established and monasteries and chortens have been repaired. Despite being located only 72km far from the capital city, Helambu is still an unspoilt trekking region that is untouched by modernity where people still adopt the ancient culture. Helambu region is inhabited by locals known as Hyolmos. The closest trekking region from Kathmandu, Helambu region expands from north of Taramarang to Gosaikunda Lake. It also includes the lower slope of Mt. Jugal. Helambu trekking is one of the easy treks near Kathmandu which offers pleasant experience of viewing culture of Hyolmo tribes. Helambu region is a less frequented area.
