Jomsom Muktinath Trek which is the part of Annapurna Circuit Trek pursues the Ancient Route used by people from Mustang to trade with Tibetans and allows us the insight into the highland topographical structures without having to go through the arduous ascent also one of the classical treks in Annapurna Region,
Unraveling the treasures of historical Kathmandu city, exploring the enchanting Lake City of Pokhara, walking along the world’s deepest gorge at Kali Gandaki Valley which is rich in ammonites (Shaligram) which is sacred to Hindus, having the soaring views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and several other peaks, treading through the blooming rhododendron woods, walking past exquisite highland villages and familiarizing with their culture, traditions, and ways of living, exploring apple orchard at Marpha which is known for its apple production and visiting the pristine Muktinath Temple Premises that is sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist devotees are major highlights of Jomsom Muktinath Trek.

Trekking experts from ‘Tourist Link Treks & Expedition’ have placed the adrenaline ‘Jomsom Muktinath Trek’itineraries at 15 days which offers you the chance of exploring the culturally rich capital city of Kathmandu as you prepare for your trekking. The package sets into motion with about 5hour of scenic drive along Prithvi Highway to Pokhara whence we will take an hour-long drive towards Nayapul from where the sensational trekking experience initiates as we walk towards Tikhe Dhunga. Walking past the exotic village of Ghorepani, we will traverse the natural hot spring geyser at Tatopani and continue our trekking through Ghasa, Larjung, Marpha, and Kagbeni to arrive at Muktinath where we will take bath to cleanse our bodies of sins committed in the lifetime before continuing the journey through Jomsom and Pokhara back to Kathmandu which concludes the gratifying trekking package.

Itinerary

Upon landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from ‘Tourist Link Treks & Expedition’ who will then convey you through the vibrant streets in Kathmandu to the hotel where you will receive a brief explanation regarding your trekking package. You will spend the night in the comfy bed.

Taking light breakfast early in the morning, our guide will then take you for a pleasant day tour inside Kathmandu which encompasses the UNESCO enlisted holiest shrine of Shiva at Pashupatinath Temple Complex, the Bouddhanath Stupa which is the largest Stupa existing inside Kathmandu, Swayambhunath Temple aka Monkey Temple which is the oldest Stupa inside Kathmandu which dates almost 2oooyrs back and the Kathmandu Durbar Square which is yet another UNESCO enlisted historical site where you will get chance to view the abode of Living Goddess- Kumari, Kasthamandap Temple, Kal Bhairab and many more.

5 hours of enchanting drive through the meandering road along the Prithvi Highway will eventually take us to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The route will be full of natural grandeurs like the Trishuli River, rice terraces, and numerous peaks in the background.

Nayapul exists at a distance of an hour-long drive far from the enchanting city of Pokhara. It is at Nayapul where the sensational trekking experience commences as we continue our journey through the easy trail for about 20 minutes to arrive at Birethanti from where the trail progresses through the woods to Tikhe Dhunga.

Leaving Tikhe Dhunga behind, we will pursue the raising trail through the stone steps to arrive at the large settlement of Ulleri which is chiefly dominated by the Magar community. Escalating uphill through the meadow, we will traverse the rivulet and make our way to Nangethanti. Continuing the trail through Nangethanti will further lead to the village at Ghorepani which offers gratifying views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, and other peaks.

Early in the dawn, we will begin our hike towards the Punhill. Enjoying the exotic sunrise view and panoramic mountain views from the hill, we will return to the hotel at Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing through the trail following the Jomsom route that takes us via Ghaja Khola to Tatopani which is the natural hot geyser where we can rejoice taking a dip.

Beginning with the trail located above the world’s deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki Valley, we will progress along the Kali Gandaki River and cross the suspension bridge over Bhalu River to arrive at Dana. Following the tapered route from Dana, we will cross the stream which eventually takes us to the Thakali village of Ghasa.

Spending the pleasant night at Ghasa, we will begin our journey through the traditional Thakali Villages which prolongs through the gorges and rivers to take us through the pretty small villages of Lete, Kalopani, and Kokhethanti. En route, we will enjoy the spectacular view of Dhaulagiri Peak before making our way to Larjung.

From Larjung, we will continue walking through the pleasant trail to arrive at the Khobang Village. Paying our tribute to Kanti Gompa existing in Khobang Village, we will pursue the trail through yet another Thakali Village at Tukuche which further leads us through the ascending trail towards Marpha which is popular for its apple orchard.

The trail on the 10th day stretches through the Shyang Village which further leads us through the Shyang River to Jomsom, the administrative headquarter of the Mustang district. Continuing the trail through Jomsom, we will pass through Ekle Bhatti to arrive at Kagbeni located at 2840m altitude where we will be staying overnight.

An upward raising trail from Kagbeni will lead us through the multi-ethnic villages of Khingar and Jharkot to make it to the holy pilgrimage site of Muktinath which is sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Taking bath at Muktinath is believed to cleanse the sins committed in the lifetime.

Lowering down to the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge, we will walk along the bank of Kali Gandaki Valley floor immersing in the exquisite vista of Nilgiri Mountain to make it to Jomsom where we will be staying overnight in a hotel.

An early morning flight will take us to Pokhara. We will spend our spare time exploring the enchanting Lake city of Pokhara whereby we will be visiting Phewa Lake, Seti Gorge, David Fall, KI Singh Bridge, Mahendra Cave, and the International Mountaineering Museum prior to returning back to the hotel where we will be staying overnight.

5hours of scenic drive through the serpentine roads along Prithvi Highway with exotic views of the Trishuli River, paddy fields, terraces, and hills will lead us back to Kathmandu where we will be staying in a hotel. Dinner will be served in the evening to celebrate the successful ‘Jomsom MuktinathTrek.’

The enticing 15days ‘Jomsom Muktinath Trek’ comes to an end on this day as you will be transferred back to Tribhuvan International airport by our representative. We are happy to serve you and we will be looking forward to your next visit.
